Words of Encouragement

Words of Encouragement

Many of us are suffering through our blessed trials and must know, “all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution,” 2 Timothy 3:12. Holdfast to what is true. “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life.” 1 Timothy 6:12. Give the sound of the three Angels messages  and the fourth angels message (Revelation 14:6-9 & 18:4) and proclaim it with all your might through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Endure your persecutions brethren, for they will prepare you for the time ahead and the life hereafter. You are not left alone to fight in this battle of Armageddon. God is “with you always, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.“ Matthew 28:20. Take hold of the power that has been given to you from God and “overcome; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” –1 Peter 5:8-9.

The righteous judgment of God will soon be executed on the wicked but we have a time of trouble to pass through before this happens. This time of trouble is at the door. Sister in Christ Ellen White, had a vision in 1844AD just after the Great Disappointment. In her report on her vision, it is written that “the dear saints have many trials to pass through. But our light afflictions, which are but for a moment, will work for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory–while we look not at the things which are seen, for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. I have tried to bring back a good report and a few grapes from the heavenly Canaan, for which many would stone me, as the congregation bade stone Caleb and Joshua for their report. (Numbers 14:10.) But I declare to you, my brethren and sisters in the Lord, it is a goodly land, and we are well able to go up and possess it.”  -Eearly Writings 13

The Words spoken by our Lord Jesus, the Christ says in His Word that “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.” John 14:1-3. We are surely able to obtain this promise if we obey those Words spoken by the Son of God, where it is written in the book of Matthew 19:17, “if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”  You are most definitely able to keep the commandments of God that was given to the Prophet Moses, that is written in the King James Bible, and that is in the book of Exodus Chapter 20, if you call out to the God of heaven and tell Him, speaking from your heart, that you want Him to come into your life to be your Lord and Saviour. Acts 2:21, “it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” When you truly do this, with the knowledge of your past sins and a repentant heart, you will receive the promise of “the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26.

The Holy Ghost will lead you into all truths that is found in the Word of God. You will also be able to understand that when a true Prophet or Prophetess comes in the name of the Lord you will hear God speak to you through them and you will understand. Those that “understandeth [it] not, then cometh the wicked [one], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth [it]; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” Matthew 13:19-23.

“The Comforter that Christ promised to send after He ascended to heaven, is the Spirit in all the fullness of the Godhead, making manifest the power of divine grace to all who receive and believe in Christ as a personal Saviour. There are three living persons of the heavenly trio. In the name of these three powers,–the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost, those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized, and these powers will cooperate with the obedient subjects of heaven in their efforts to live the new life in Christ.” –Bible Training School, March 1, 1906

You then may ask how can I be saved and receive this promise?

What is the sinner to do?–Believe in Christ. He is Christ’s property, bought with the blood of the Son of God. Through test and trial the Saviour redeemed human beings from the slavery of sin. What then must we do to be saved from sin?–Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as the sin-pardoning Saviour. He who confesses his sin and humbles his heart will receive forgiveness. Jesus is the sin-pardoning Saviour as well as the only begotten Son of the infinite God. The pardoned sinner is reconciled to God through Jesus Christ our Deliverer from sin.” This does NOT mean you can freely trample on the Law of God and think that you are going to enter into heaven.  “Keeping in the path of holiness, he is a subject of the grace of God. There is brought to him full salvation, joy, and peace, and the true wisdom that comes from God.

Faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ is the assurance of pardon. Christ can cleanse away all sin. Simple reliance on that power day by day will give the human agent keen wisdom to discern what will keep the soul in these last days from the bondage of sin. By faith and prayer, through the knowledge of Christ, he is to work out his own salvation.

The Holy Spirit recognizes and guides us into all truth. God has given His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Christ is the sinner’s Saviour. Christ’s death has redeemed the sinner. This is our only hope. If we make a full surrender of self, and practice the virtues of Christ, we shall gain the prize of eternal life. ‘He that believeth in the Son, hath the Father also.’ He who has continual faith in the Father and the Son has the Spirit also. The Holy Spirit is his comforter, and he never departs from the truth.” -Bible Training School, March 1, 1906, The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost- Ellen G. White

One of the sure signs that you are walking with God and that you have gained the promise of the Holy Ghost, is that you begin to keep the commandments of God. The law is love and it is God’s Character. If you want to please God, keep the law. For it is written in the book of Joshua 22:5, “But take diligent heed to do the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave unto him, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.” Furthermore, the Words spoken by the Son of God Himself said “If ye love me, keep my commandments” because only those that do “will enter into life.” –John 14:15, Matthew 19:17.

The world today has many denominations claiming to be the true church of God. What many of these denominations fail to realize, especially the people that are in them, is that keeping “the commandments of God are not grievous” (1 John 5:3) and that it is our duty to keep the law; For it is written in the book of Deuteronomy 11:1, ”Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, always.” Did you hear that? ALWAYS!!! Only those that do love God will keep His Commandments and receive the crown of life, for it is written in the book of James 1:12, “Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.”

Those that loveth not Jesus keepeth not His Law. These are they which are “being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” Romans 1:29-32. These that continue in sin will have the assurance written in the Word of God where Jesus Himself said “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity,” and with “death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Matthew 7:23, Revelation 20:14-15.

Those that are truly sealed with the promise of eternal life are they that love God. You are to fight the good fight of faith so that you can lay hold of eternal life, 1 Timothy 6:12. When God sees that you are striving to keep His commandments, you will receive more power from Him to combat the enemy but it is your fight to win and your proving to God your loyalty to Him. It is a fight to the death, till you go to sleep in the dust where “man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where [is] he? [As] the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens [be] no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.” Job 14:10-12. When you are fighting and you fail your test and trial, you must cry out to God in the name of Jesus and ask for forgiveness. When you do this with true repentance and brush yourself off, get back up and fight again. Every time you fall into sin, dust yourself off, however many times and confess to only fight again. You must overcome this battle though. You cannot continue in sin. If God sees that you are truly battling He will give you victory. The day you stop fighting, the day you don’t get up to fight again, and fall at the way side, your fate will be sealed in the Day of Judgment. Yourprobation could close at anytime. God loves you and gives you His Word to understand truth. It is written in His Word that His people “are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” Hosea 4:6.

This is not an easy road to travel on but be in good spirit because those who endure and remain faithful unto death, will obtain a crown of victory because it is written “Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.” Revelation 22:14.You must know brethren, that it is written in the book of Matthew 7:14, “strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.” “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he [is] God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations.” Deuteronomy 7:9. May God the Holy Spirit direct your path and lead you into all truths that you will find in the Word of God that was given to us by God the Father.

December 11, 1888 The Approaching Crisis.

“The law of God should be loved and prized by God’s true people now, more than ever before. There is the most urgent necessity of enforcing the words of Christ upon the mind and heart of every believer, both men and women, youth and children: “Search the Scriptures.” Examine your Bibles as you have never done before. Unless you arise to a higher, holier attitude in your religious life, you will not be ready for the appearing of our Lord. There are many who are not purifying their souls by obeying the truth. As great light has been given them, God expects proportionate zeal, devotion, and faithfulness upon the part of his people. But there will be proportionate darkness, unbelief, and blindness as the truth is not appreciated and acted upon.”

“God has revealed what is to take place in the last days, that his people may be prepared to stand against the tempest of opposition and wrath. Those who have been warned of the events before them are not sit in calm expectation of the coming storm, comforting themselves that the Lord will shelter his faithful ones in the day of trouble. We are to be as men waiting for their Lord, not in idle expectancy, but in earnest work, with unwavering faith. It is no time now to allow our minds to be engrossed with things of minor importance. While men are sleeping, Satan is actively arranging matters so that the Lord’s people may not have mercy or justice. The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the under-current is tending. Its professions are mild, and apparently Christian; but when it shall speak, it will reveal the spirit of the dragon. It is our duty to do all in our power to avert the threatened danger. We should endeavor to disarm prejudice by placing ourselves in a proper light before the people. We should bring before them the real question at issue, thus interposing the most effectual protest against measures to restrict liberty of conscience. We should search the Scriptures, and be able to give the reason for our faith. Says the prophet, “The wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”  -Review and Herald, December 11, 1888

Verse for the week

Luke10:27 “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.”
